Nine stories comprise this particular issue: "Flashback," "Safe Haven," "Discombobulated," "Creature Club," "Aura," "Brothers in Arms," "Crystal Ball," and "Left Behind and Gods of the Battlefield."
Overall, I felt this particular issue was so-so. The artwork wasn't as enjoyable or interesting as in the first issue, and it felt like there was less variety in the style of the art, so no one comic story stood out above the rest in that respect. Nevertheless, there were some stories that I felt more effective than others.
"Brother in Arms" is set before and during the Normandy invasion in WWII and features a gay soldier dealing with crap from other soldiers. I felt this story was authentic, not only in the story and the characters, but the colors and art felt so very appropriate for the setting. This felt the most real than the others.
"Left Behind" grabbed me emotionally more than the others, but I felt the style of the art didn't match the serious of the subject: which was a woman having a hard time dealing with the suicide of her daughter. It looked far too cartoonish, for lack of a better word. The art style seemed more appropriate for a funny story.
"Discombobulated" is set at a science fair at a school for super-genius kids. After the judge disses one too many of the projects presented by the students, one of them gives the judge a good schooling on encouraging kids instead of demeaning them and their efforts. It just made me want to stand up a cheer.
The other stories were okay in showing instances of the real pain caused by bullying. Regardless of the overall quality, this still a series I can absolutely recommend.
