Joe thinks there's something wrong with him. Then a special dreamer shows up causing trouble and claiming to be his partner, Frank. Joe's current partner, Kate, supports Joe in trying to figure out what's really going on.

This issue is important for the overall plot and provides some important insights into Joe's thoughts and personality as well as Kate's role. It's definitely not as exciting or action-packed as the previous issues, but, in a way, that's a nice change of pace. I like the turn things take regarding Frank, and I'm very curious regarding him being a dreamer now. I love Joe's expression when he's told the dreamer asked to speak to him personally. However, that same panel contains a continuity error (Kate was behind Joe and to his left in the previous panel, and now that the close-up is on their faces she's in front of him and to his right). It's a pretty jarring error, though at least it doesn't have anything to do with the plot. There's a small cliffhanger tossed in amidst some heavy philosophical questions, but the danger it promises is definitely a hook. Part of me appreciates Joe's questions, but part of me agrees with Kate that he needs to stop asking for now as they aren't leading anywhere. This is a solid issue, enjoyable in its own way, but I'm looking forward to seeing a bit more of the Dreamscape and / or action in the next issue.
