A dying planet brought Bigfoot to their world to save it. He ends up enslaved, but with the help of Castor, a fellow prisoner, they escape. Their newfound freedom is short-lived, however, as they are attacked by giant bugs, and escape that only to be drafted into an army.

I read issue #3 of this series first (as I was intrigued by the villain on the cover), which left me confused and a bit disappointed. This first issue is rather strong, however. I get a good feel for most of the main characters, though there is still plenty of mystery about who they are and why they're there (mostly Bigfoot). I like how we how Castor provides opportunities through his narration for us to see if Bigfoot will speak. Whether Bigfoot can actually speak or not is one thing, but he should at least make noises. The silence is unnatural, and that makes it difficult to get a good feel for Bigfoot as a character. If it weren't for the action scenes, he would completely fade into the background.

The overlord is mysterious and intriguing, and I really hope more information about him is provided in the next issue. The leader's short stature seems unusual, but also makes me curious. The mask is appropriately creepy, too. The giant ant-like bugs make for the best enemy and fight scene, though again, Bigfoot's complete silence is jarring, and makes me less interested in pursuing this title. The army that drafts them comes out of nowhere, but that's a small complaint.

Overall, I like the art and character designs. I love the lizard-like males especially. There are often panels where the amount of detail is dropped, leaving the panel looking almost unfinished. The pacing in this issue is nicely done.
